Description

The golden barrel cactus, golden ball or mother-in-law's cushion, is a well known species of cactus, and is endemic to east-central Mexico. It is rare and endangered in the wild. They can live to be one hundred years old.

I found this one growing in front of a beautiful ranch style home in Southern California. I am in amazement at the intricate weave of this plant. Wonderfully designed.
