A view from the stairwell looking up at the old, restored, lighthouse. The original idea was that at over 400 feet up the cliffs the lighthouse could be seen for many more miles. What was not taken into account was the problem of fog that covered the area at that height. This rendered the lighthouse useless too often and a new one was built down below.
