Description
"Sunset Beyond Castle Peak"
This is the sun setting behind the West Hills, El Escorpion Trail, of the San Fernando Valley. I was chasing this one before it got away, driving all the way to the end of West Vanowen Street ( a main artery in the area ) and finding a small trail head in a cluster of residences. The hiking trail to Castle Peak does just over a 2 mile loop where there are some great formations and a cave to travel through to get to the top.
As for me in my quest for a photograph... I stayed at the mouth of the entry to the Castle Peak Park shooting the sun setting. I was in a time crunch because dinner was waiting about half a mile away.
Enjoy.

Beautiful - as a girl, I lived with a view of Castle Peak, before it was developed beyond Valley Circle. Used to roam and play in those hills!

My mother owns a home just down the street from it. It was engulfed in flames earlier this year (2019) when fire swept through the area.
