This was my first trip to Joshua Tree National Park, California in late 2012. Just decided to jump in the car and take the 70 mile drive.
We arrived at mid-afternoon and I quickly began to realize what a mistake it was to get there in such a leisurely way. What a fantastic place! The Joshua's were huge and the hills and rock formations incredible. "How did I miss this?", I kept on wondering to myself. We were only able to touch a small sample in the daylight hours available. That will not happen again.
This formation is called Intersection Rock.
