Description
Ernie Maxwell needed a trail to get his horses into town. Being a popular person in this neck of the woods brought the people together to ease the pain that they had to endure on their trek to the community center. The trail was completed and opened in the late 1980's. It's a 2.5 mile sightseeing tour that runs around the base of Tahquitz Rock (Lily Rock) in the San Jacinto Mountains, and has some beautiful views into Strawberry Valley.
I took this photograph while exploring it for the first time in 2015. Love the shaded areas along the path. Lots of manzanitas, ponderosas, and a few redwoods like these.
