Description
California Highway 173 runs from the City of Hesperia through to Lake Arrowhead and beyond. It's a beautiful drive that winds through the desert into the mountains. Winter can be brutal and beautiful along this drive.
This gnarled roadside tree reminded me of someone trying to hitch a ride on a cold afternoon. The sun from the west was beginning to turn to that golden hour and the shadows grew long. Finished it off with an impressionistic oil finish, with a canvas texture.
