The old tree leaned in as though it was taking in the view of Jackson Lake and the mountainside.
The mountains in L.A. County make it easy to go from hustle and bustle to tranquil serenity in the space of just a half hour. Jackson Lake is not far from the little town of Wrightwood and the popular skiing areas of Southern California. It is at the elevation of 6000 feet and freezes over most winters.
The photograph was originally taken in 2011 on a Kodak EasyShare.
