I was taken back by the amount of activity in Old Downtown Nashville on this Friday evening. I shouldn't have been, but I was measuring it according to the lack of daytime movements that I had witnessed. This city was alive! The neon signs illuminated the scene. Waiting times in the old town restaurants on the boulevard were long. We were fortunate to find a great pizzaria off a back alley. The street was full of life and there was an act playing in every bar and grill, on most corners, and in many a doorway.
This building dwarfed the area like a guardian watching over the city. The "AT&T Building", also known as "The Batman Building", is an imposing sight from ground level. I took the original photograph just as the sun was setting. It worked nicely into a digital painting.
