Description
California was in the middle of a drought when we visited Joshua Tree National Park in April of 2015. This scene captures the hot and dry heat of the day. After viewing this photograph I felt the rock formation in the foreground of the image summed up the scene. A bit of a prehistoric and Jurassic feel to it. After further study I noticed the rock climber that was hanging on. He is located at the left below that high boulder peak. Almost looks like he is in need of some help! Gives real scale to how large these rock really are.

So glad you pointed out the rock climber Glenn, I had no idea that these rock formations were so large! Wonderful capture, the deep blue sky and the glare off the rocks give a feel for the hot day that it was

The whole park is filled with these piles. Incredible to see... hard to photograph properly.
