Description
I came across this old mail delivery truck in a little town called Yermo, just outside of Barstow, California along Route 66. When I say little... I mean really little!
The mail truck was in bad shape. I could tell that vandals were having a good time with some pretty nice sized rocks. Still it was a piece of nostalgia and America that I wanted somehow to preserve through photo documentation. Perhaps one day there will be a story to tell about how we actually received hand written letters right to our doors. One postal creed reads, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." That creed and the postal system are on the verge of extinction! I've preserved a little of history with "Rust And Mail".

Wonderful bit of nostalgia Glenn! Many young ones today don't even know what a handwritten letter is (text, text, text is all they know!)
