Description
California State Scenic Route 74 is one of those hidden secrets of Southern California. It's the back route to the Palm Springs/Palm Desert, Coachella Valley area. Lake Hemet is a peaceful spot that is privately owned and operated. It is also a reservoir that was created in when the Hemet Dam was started in 1891.
Hollywood thought enough about this location that two episodes of Bonanza were filmed here in 1959.
Each visit I have made to this lake has left me with the sense of peace that quietness that nature yields. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, channel catfish, bluegill and Largemouth bass with the lake yielding 12 miles of shoreline.
The FineArtAmerica Security Watermark does not appear on any purchased items.
