Description
"Stairway To"
I found this stairway, part of an old desert stone house, that had been abandoned and worn by time and the harsh elements. It stood alone against the rugged hillside with remnants from the past as a reminder that it was the dwelling place of a caring family at one time. Some of the old planted trees and flower bushes still survived around the property, though there was no one there to water and maintain. It had caught fire on the last go round. Made me wonder what it was like in its hey day.

Nice title ... stairs leading to that beautiful blue sky :) v
Glenn McCarthy Art and Photography replied:
Yes... would have put a question mark there but it wouldn't allow it!

Great find and capture, Glenn! Love the vantage point you put the viewer at! v
Glenn McCarthy Art and Photography replied:
It was probably the best angle. The interior of this place was smoked and I thought the old burnt mattress wouldn't play too well.
Ella Kaye
beautiful capture and stone color and structure is amazing; has withstood the test of time
Janis Tafoya
Very nice, makes one wonder what went on there before.....v
Glenn McCarthy Art and Photography replied:
Thank You Janis. It was interesting how the garden and trees continued on. Rose bushes and fruit trees in the middle of heatsville.
Edward Fielding
Amazing what you can find in the desert!
Glenn McCarthy Art and Photography replied:
It truly is. I find myself straining to see off in the distance what can be found on a dirt road.

Heaven? Now I've got Led Zeppelin on my mind. Nice capture Glenn. Old abandoned homes leave me wondering what the story is behind their demise
