Description
Sedgewick Lynch built this beautiful Victorian style mansion in 1877 on top of the bluffs overlooking the Monterey Bay at Cowell's Beach. He was a master carpenter who had struck it rich during the California Gold Rush. After 127 years it had become in need of a revitalization. In 2004 the new owners embarked on a 3 year restoration that resulted in the West Cliff Inn, a 10 room Bed and Breakfast. Sedgwick Lynch went on to build the original Santa Crus Wharf.
It's too hard to beat this view overlooking the Santa Cruz Pier and Boardwalk. And the neighborhood surroundings can't help but make one wonder what it would take to make this their permanent residential location.
