Description
Life is a roller coaster ride! This photo reminded me once again of the up's and down's that we all have as the years slip by... or as a normal day unfolds! Never know what's coming around the bend...
The Giant Dipper, also known as the Mission Beach Roller Coaster, is a wooden roller coaster, built in 1925 and located on the beachfront in San Diego. The Giant Dipper has been designated as a National Historic Landmark since 1987 when it was reprieved from the demolition ball. A two million dollar renovation project has rejuvenated the attraction. I can remember it from the 1980's when it sat behind a chain linked fence with paint peeling, and wood splintering, It was a refuge for seagulls and pigeons.
