Description

This is the "First Congregational Church of Riverside" bell tower photo that I took while visiting the old town section and located directly across from The Mission Inn Hotel. This is an incredibly beautiful and nostalgic area of Southern California.

The church building was designed by architect Myron Hunt in the Spanish Baroque Churrigueresque style. Construction began in 1912, and was dedicated on January 25, 1914. In 1989 a 24-bell cast bronze carillon, made by the Paccard Foundry in France, was installed in the church's 135-foot bell tower, the only pealing bells in Southern California. It was added to the National Register Of Historic Places in 1997.
