This stairwell seems to symbolize the real pathway that we all take to our eventual outcome. At the top of this little hill is the cemetery in Julian, California. Lots of very old headstones up there, recalling the past of this small town.

The overgrown and weathered conditions, along with the different fencing (including barbed wire) from private property owners, seem to remind me that everything is not paved with gold in this gradual move to our destiny. Thank God there is some shade and a few glimpses of gold splashed along the path.
