Description
This lake is really a mirage in a sense. It will be unrecognizable in a couple of days. The water has gathered temporarily after a rain, leaving the impression of a vast body of water. The birds like it and the drivers along the road catch a beautiful reflection of the sunset on their commute along Highway 18 in the Lucerne Valley. Flash flooding is a common occurrence in the Mojave Desert and changes the environmental landscape in a hurry.
"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds." ~ Edward Abbey
