Description
Tahquitz Peak (aka Lily Rock) seems to be purposefully soaking in the late afternoon sun rays.
This peak is located about 2 miles outside the mountain town of Idyllwild in the Southern California San Bernardino Forest. I took this photo on January 1, 2019. It was clear, cold, and refreshing.
I've always thought of Tahquitz Peak as a century guarding the little town. It is an impressive formation that many climbers have traveled far to scale. The granite rock structure has a 1000 foot face. The peak is 8,846 feet. It is one of my favorite artistic subjects.
