I took this photograph many times over in order to find the one exposure that would frame the beautiful home that was lodged along the cliffs above the water. The twisting cypress, rock, and earth worked quite well, capturing the essence of this area. Even they seemed to exude quality.

My 2013 travel through this area left an impression on me, reminding me just how good a quality of life can be obtained, or dreamed of! The beautiful estates along the drive, the care and concern for the environment, the attention to detail and preservation of region. Amazing what can be done when we put our minds to it.

17-Mile Drive is a scenic road that winds it' way through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula, ending at Carmel, in California. Much of it hugs the Pacific coastline and passes famous golf courses, mansions and scenic attractions. A destination spot for the bucket list.
