Description
Trigger, originally named Golden Cloud (1932 3 July 1965) was a 15.3 hands (63 in; 1.60 m) golden palomino, made famous in American Western films with his owner, cowboy star Roy Rogers. Trigger became the most famous horse in film entertainment, even having his own Dell comic book recounting his exploits. There was also a famous old saying: "What a face, what a figure, two more legs and she'll look like Trigger." "Bucky the Bronco," Trigger's twin, stands above the south scoreboard of the Denver Broncos stadium. He was created from this same mold, with the approval of Roy Rogers. The 24 foot mold was afterwards destroyed. This photo was taken at Sunset Hills in Apple Valley with the Sycamore Rocks as a backdrop. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were well known for their work with children and charitable contributions.

Beautiful statue of a great horse! Like the background!
Glenn McCarthy Art and Photography replied:
Thank you Avis. That area is miles of desert hills littered with rock. Very beautiful scape.
Terri Waters
Fantastic, brought back memories. Love the write up too
Glenn McCarthy Art and Photography replied:
Thank you so much Terri. I saw the work of the taxidermy on Trigger when it was at the Roy Rogers Museum. You would think the horse was still alive , it was done so well.
Eunice Miller
Gorgeous image of this famous horse Trigger. Apple Valley is better for this tribute being there, in the landscape..
Glenn McCarthy Art and Photography replied:
Thank you Eunice. I agree that it was a good thing to pay tribute to the Roy Rogers folks. They put Apple Valley on the map.
